We are currently recruiting freelance translators for Ukrainian&lt;English, to work on self-employed contract who can help to meet our clients’ needs. Assignments include but are not limited to: <ul><li>Commercial/Business</li><li>Asylum and Refugee Services</li><li>Human Rights</li><li>Modern Day Slavery</li><li>Local Authorities / Social Services</li><li>Social Housing / Social Security</li><li>Legal</li><li>Medical/Healthcare</li><li>Employment / Education</li><li>Finance</li><li>Food &amp; Drink</li><li>Agriculture</li><li>Marketing</li><li>Construction</li><li>Retail/e-commerce</li><li>Subtitling/Voice Over</li><li>Manufacturing</li><li>Transcreation</li><li>Other</li></ul> What we expect from our linguists Essential Skills <ul><li>A Native speaker of the target language (language you are translating into).Excellent writing skills and command of grammar both in your mother tongue and English.</li><li>Native fluency in source language(s)</li><li>Demonstrable subject matter expertise specific to the content you translate</li><li>Knowledge and experience in using CAT tools.</li><li>Attention to detail.</li><li>Time management skills and ability to work quickly to meet deadlines.</li><li> </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft computer packages</li></ul> Desirable Skills <ul><li>A solid understanding and in-depth knowledge of language/country-specific cultures usually gained by living and working there for a prolonged period of time.</li><li>Living, studying, or working in a bilingual environment or working in the language industry</li><li>Proficiency in InDesign</li><li>Knowledgeof translation-oriented applications and software is helpful</li><li>Enthusiasm for acquiring knowledge.</li></ul> Qualifications, Experience and Memberships <ul><li>At least one of the following plus relevant experience (with documented evidence)</li></ul> <ul><li>A recognised graduate qualification in translation from an institution of higher education;</li><li>A recognised honours degree in the relevant language</li><li>MA or postgraduate qualification in Translation</li><li>A recognised graduate qualification in any other field from an institution of higher education plus two years of full-time professional experience in translating</li><li>Five years of full-time professional experience in translating</li><li>CIOL Qualifications Level 7 Diploma in Translation (DipTrans), (DPI level 4&amp;5 in translation for rare languages)</li><li>CIOL Level 6 Certificate in Translation (CertTrans)</li></ul>Full qualified membership of a relevant professional body (ITI, CIOL, NRPST, for example) <ul><li>You must be also able to provide:</li></ul> <ul><li>Evidence that you are eligible to work in the UK (if UK based)</li><li>Provide a valid DBS certificate (or be willing to apply for one if UK based) or Police Check Certificate (non-UK)</li><li>2 Professional References</li><li>Agree to provide test translation free of charge</li></ul> Our contact details:Tel: 08000 5200 380email: vendors&#64;clearvoice.org.uk
